The Telegraph – Tomorrow’s tender? Liverpool gets its very own digital currency

When arriving somewhere new one of the first things travellers do is get their hands on the local currency: euros, dollars, dirhams, rupees, the list goes on.
And now that list is even longer thanks to the city of Liverpool, which has become the latest destination to launch its own currency.
While other towns and cities in Britain have already flirted with their own mediums of exchange – including Bristol, Totnes and the London borough of Brixton – the Liverpool Local Pound (LLP) promises to be different.
